illustro's classes always feature
actual hands-on lab exercises at every class to make sure you
immediately practice what you've just heard. With this approach, our
students leave our classes with practical experience and return back
to their installation ready to put their skills to use.
In keeping with our
commitment to innovation, we announced a new class in 2009
titled "Connecting VSE to
Other Platforms", class A3760. This class offers hands-on skills to
learn what it takes to connect the VSE/ESA and z/VSE platforms with
the multitude of other platforms. This includes using the VSE
Connectors for Java exploitation, and XML and Web Services
facilities.
In 2010 we developed a new class in demand
for some of the personnel changes taking place around the
world with new (and sometimes younger!) staff learning the
trade of the mainframe. "VSE
Systems Operations", class A3714 teaches the ins and outs
of operating a z/VSE system to train new operators. Graduates
of this class are fully ready to assume operator
responsbilitiy immediately.
Additionally, we continue to create
custom-classes to be taught on-site for organizations who are
also training new systems support staff, including systems
programmers for z/VM and z/VSE. We custom build an agenda
based on your individual needs, drawing from our existing
classes including VSE Systems
Operations, VSE Under the
Covers, TCP/IP Under the
Covers, CICS TS for z/VSE
and VM for Systems
Programmers. This is a very cost effective way to
mentor a new staff member with systems support
responsibilities transferring knowledge from illustro team
members who have decades of VSE and VM support experience.
